These are Julias' little dudes, I love the one with out arms, he's got real character.
I loved her gum ball machine picture because I knew what it was right away.
This painting is significant to me because it's the first one that is not named Rainbow!
The girls are ready for Halloween, Sarah is ready for all that candy! I can't wait to take them trick or treating although it's a month away,I know it's going to sneak up on us. So the girls already have their costumes all set up. Julia will be Tinkerbell and Sarah is going to be Elina from Fairytopia. Julia has Sarahs' old Elina dress up out fit on and Sarahs' Bridal veil in one of the pictures and I also had to post some of their art. Both their teachers have commented on there art skills, I know I'm biased but I'm impressed.

Pajama Day
Sarah had a pajama day at her school today, we didn't even brush her hair, we figured it would go along with the theme! In the first picture Julia said something that got on Sarahs' nerves the second before I took it, the second one Sarah is making the staple crazy Sarah face, one of my favorites. I also got a note from her principal today informing the parents, that the teachers would brain storm for ideas in the best interest of the children, we should find out what they come up with on Monday.

This is our second family photo, our first one is some where on a disc, this one isn't the best but I still kind of like it. We'll have to get one where Sarah isn't pouting, she was totally doing it on purpose too. Right when we finished she started laughing! We actually needed to do it for Julias' school project, she needs a picture of her family and to explain why we are special to her. I get answers like;because she likes rabbits, the pool, the dog, etc.;but really what kind of answers can you really expect from a 3 year old.

Fun Run and Furlough
Sarahs' school fun run was pretty big. The High School band played there, they had a Meadow Gold Cow walking around, and the Cheer leading Squad was doing pyramids in the middle of them while they ran in a huge circle around the school Field. It was the whole Elementary School so it was pretty intense, I saw Sarah walking through for about 5 seconds before I lost track of her again so I was so lucky to get a picture of her, she's in the orange with the pony tails. I was proud of her for doing that, it was very hot and someone told me later that some of the Kindergarten kids were crying and some were falling down, so it was a little bit much for the little ones but Sarah hung in there. I helped out with the Jamba Juice Tent which was pretty neat, it got a little crazy hearing all the people scream out different flavors but it was fun working with the other parents. All the volunteers got a free drink too, so refreshing.
That was the good part of the day, the unfortunate part is that a furlough is going to take effect on Oct.17. every other friday there will be no school. The teachers' Union got together to make this wonderful plan of taking 17 more days out of the school year for the kids, on account of Budget cut backs. Every body is feeling the sting but seriously, why would teachers want to do that to the children? I know the pay is ridiculous and worse because of the budget cut back, but seriously, isn't that taking one problem and creating another? Oh well nothing us parents can do about it but find other ways to educate our children.

Swings,Julia, and her "baby"
I put up the girls 2 person swing today and Dad and Dann put up the other 2 regular swings. Sarah told me that she doesn't want to do anything but swing, no school, no monkey bars, no watching tv. She was very excited.
We meant to go to Bishop Museum today, a requirement for Danns' class but we didn't have enough time so we ended up going to the mall and eating pizza at the whole foods store. Of course we get pizza at the whole foods store, it was wood fire cooked so it was awesome! Julia kept grabbing Sarah from me and telling me I couldn't hug her because Sarah is her baby. Julia is so ridiculously silly sometimes! So here are some pictures of them on there 2 person swing and pictures of Julia being a good "mommy" to Sarah

The Beach
We went to the beach today on the Windward side right by China Mans' Hat. We definitely should do this every Saturday. It took Julia a little while to get into the water; she was a little suspicious. Sarah dove right in like she does with everything and demonstrated her writing skills in the sand, she's getting very excited about writing and learning how to read. We also saw an octopus, some lady was telling Dann how her and her brother caught a couple and they were about to eat them, the girls really wanted to touch it but were a little unsure, Sarah said that next time she sees one she will touch it.

Sarah
We got her picture today and she's adorable of course, here is a link to show her picture with the annoying copy right junk on it, sorry just couldn't think of a better way to put it up here since we didn't get a cd this time, http://www.simplephoto.com/SC/index.cfm?fuseaction=PictureLogin&eid=9498138&fn=HouseofPhoto&iCnt=1

School Spirit
Dann, Sarah, Julia, and I participated in Ohana Night last night. I served the spaghetti plate dinners back in the kitchen while the kids ran around with Dann and got Cotton Candy, we all had a great time. The head of PTA provided a nice band and everybody sat on the lawn except for the kids of course, they were all pumped full of Cotton Candy goodness! Dann told me that the girls ravaged the Cotton Candy! Sarah didn't want to go but it was 5 minutes until bed time so she cried "I want to go to Ohana Night!" all the way to the car. It was pretty sad but she was obviously exhausted and she was happy as soon as she was tucked into bed and had her stories read. I bought a couple of school shirts, one for her and one for me, Julias' school shirt came with her welcome package. Dann and I unwound from the night with some Coffee Bean treats,a 60% chocolate bar, and a tv on dvd episode of Office;each episode is as hilarious as the last. Here are the girls in there school shirts and a picture of play ground progress, all that is left is attaching the swings, slide, and monkey bars.

3 quarters there!
Dann and Dad worked on the set a lot last night. Dad and I worked on it this morning;we got the roof on and the rock wall on so now the girls are ready for business! Sarah and Julia have already tested it out but Sarah quit early because she said she needed to do her homework first, is she really my child!? I'm very impressed with her home work ethic.
Here are some pics of the girls enjoying the unfinished equipment; we just need to add a slide, monkey bars, and swings! The first picture is of what Dann so lovingly calls my "hobbit foot", I stubbed it on the wood while working on the project with Dann after dark, so worth it though.

Work In Progress
We are finding that the work is best done when the sun goes down, just about 100% better. The girls are doing very well and love their school. Sarah got to paint today, her teacher gave her class stickers for sitting nicely, and she bought bubbles with her fake money. Some girl painted Sarahs' shirt while they were painting, she said the girl was mean but she seems to have moved on.
Julia seems to have fully adjusted to school and she was very happy about playing with blue playdo this morning with Mr.Tracey.
We're finally getting more organized, it's a lot easier to do with a working body. The play set is coming along nicely, here are some pictures.
100 baby!
I know it's really sad, but I've been trying to make it to 100 posts and here it is! Today was awesome;Sarah, Julia, Dann, and I had lots of fun watching Ponyo; an awesome anime that I recommend any body see! We had an amazing lunch and cake with my parents, and Dann, my Dad, and I are making some serious progress with the play set! On the instructions it said it should take 2 average people about 8 hours. Well, I think it might take us about a week, haha:)! It's mostly the rain and sun that's keeping our bursts of activity to a minimum with this project. The girls are ready for play time though, that's for sure.

Play Time
My mom, Uncle Scott, and Dad went out yesterday with the intent of bringing the girls a swing set home, and that's what they did! So today we are going to set it up I think. I haven't seen it yet but I think it's going to be pretty big. Sarah told my mom that this way she wont bother her when she's working. I just figured she didn't understand that my mom needed to work. I guess I underestimate her! They are going to have a blast and plenty of pictures will be taken with my newly found camera that is right next to me charging as I type, woohooooo!

Eve is a beautiful name for a beautiful girl
I know most people already know it but my Niece, Eve was born September 3rd/2009, I'm so happy for Dan and Ruth. I know it's pretty tough those first couple months but I also know they are going to do a great job. Dan and Ruth are both very considerate, gentle, and loving people! I think that's the recipe for an amazing road ahead for all three of them. My only wish is to see them as soon as possible!!
Sarah was so excited when I told her that her cousin was born, she started dancing around like a ballerina! My Mom, Julia, and I were very happy to talk to Dan on the phone an hour after Eve was born, and we got to hear her amazing cry! Sarah keeps telling me I have a really cute niece and I keep telling her she has a really cute cousin. We are all just so happy and proud of Dan,Ruth, and Eve!!:)
